Description
Braided Flexible Connectors for High-Movement Piping
Some piping runs move more than a standard connector can comfortably handle — thermal expansion on long runs, pump-induced vibration, or both at once. Braided Flexible Connectors use a woven metal exterior over a flexible core, giving the joint strength against pressure while still absorbing movement at the connection point.
That braided layer isn't decorative. It's what keeps the connector from ballooning or failing under pressure the way an unreinforced rubber section eventually would on the same application.
Applications Where Braiding Matters
Pump discharge lines, compressor connections, and piping subject to pressure spikes are where braided designs earn their keep. Braided Flexible Connectors tend to outlast simpler rubber connectors in these higher-stress spots, though they usually cost more upfront — a tradeoff that makes sense once you factor in fewer mid-life replacements.

AIR CONDITIONING HEATING AND VENTILATING SYSTEMS:
VIBRO FLEX Flexible Connectors relieve stresses resulting from thermal variations and piping misalignment, while also minimizing the transfer of noise and vibration. They are commonly installed on hot and chilled water circulation lines, at both the suction and discharge ends of pumps, as well as on header connections.
Flexible connectors protect marine systems by preventing the transfer of noise and vibration while also guarding against damage caused by electrolysis. They are typically installed on the suction and discharge sides of circulating water-cooling systems, as well as on the air intake lines of diesel engines.

FAQ
Are braided connectors harder to install than standard ones?
Not significantly — they connect the same way, though their added rigidity means bend radius needs more attention during layout.
Do they need any special maintenance?
Periodic visual inspection for corrosion on the braid is usually enough; the material doesn't require active maintenance under normal conditions.
Can braided connectors handle both vibration and pressure surges?
Yes, that's largely the point — the braid manages pressure while the inner core still absorbs vibration and movement.
